This is my 23rd year in education and my 8th year
in Pasadena ISD. I have previously taught PreK, K, 1st
and 2nd grades. I have an Associate of Arts in Liberal
Arts from Lee College in Baytown (where my father was a
government professor for 27 years). My Bachelor of
Science in Interdisciplinary Studies, with a minor in English, is from the University of Houston Clear Lake. I hold certifications in Special Education, Gifted and Talented, as well as, English as a Second Language.  In 2008, I pursued my certification to become a Dyslexia Specialist through Region 4 Education Center and Neuhaus Education Center. Currently, I am completing my Master of Education (MEd) Reading with Reading Specialist/Certified Academic Language Therapist(CALT).

I am a teacher-mom to my sixth-grade son, Kaeleb, and college-age children: daughter, Alayna (University of Houston); bonus daughters, Faith (graduate Texas A&M University) and Joy (graduate of Baylor University); and bonus son, Tom (graduate Texas State University and active National Guard) and daughter in law, Laurel (graduate of Texas State University). My husband is an over-the-road truck driver, so my children and I have a lot of time to play with our kittens and tend to our koi pond, while we wait for Mr. Havard to come home and join us.

Please know once your child becomes one of my students, they are mine. I will be your child's advocate, i.e. school "Mama Bear." My number one goal is your child and his/her success in and out of the classroom.

***I communicate via email, Remind, quick notes attached to papers sent home, and our annual progress meetings. With that said, please reach out to me when you have any questions or concerns, as I am focused on assisting your child being a life-long reader. ***

Please check out the various pages, listed in the left column. I have many links to activities for your child and information for you.
